Saturday night, UNLV will take on the Arizona State Sun Devils in Tempe, Arizona. In the latest AP Poll, Arizona State ranks #23, up two spots from their preseason ranking of #25.

Arizona State defeated Southern Utah 41-14 on September 2nd. Sun Devils junior QB Jayden Daniels went 10/12 passing with 132 yards, and added 40 rushing yards on 7 carries. RBs Rachaad White, DeaMonte Trayanum, Daniyel Ngata, and WR Ricky Pearsall combined for 179 rushing yards and 6 TDs in the game.

UNLV will face a tall task on the road after dropping their season opener at home against Eastern Washington 35-33 in double overtime. Redshirt freshman QB Doug Brumfield relieved junior QB Justin Rogers and led a valiant second-half comeback effort. Brumfield has been named the starter for the road matchup against Arizona State.

Containing the Sun Devils rushing attack will be key for Rebels if they want a chance at pulling off the upset. Jayden Daniels is a dual-threat QB, and when he drops back to pass, the Rebels also have to improve on the 374 yards they allowed through the air to Eastern Washington.

The Rebels played significantly better in the second half last week with Brumfield at QB. UNLV will head into Tempe with Brumfield as the starter, and it will take a total team effort to get a road win against a ranked opponent.
