UNLV lands commitment from three-star defensive end Aubrey Scott

UNLV football picked up their third recruit from the class of 2022 Sunday afternoon when three-star defensive end Aubrey Scott committed to the Rebels.

Scott stands at 6-foot-5, 240 pounds, and is entering his senior season at Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California. 247Sports has Scott ranked 55th in edge rushers in the class of 2022.

A couple of areas of focus for Arroyo and his staff, on the defensive side of the ball, is to create more havoc plays and get more pressure on the quarterback.

Adding Scott will help give the Rebels depth on the defensive line. He is a big body and can force his way through the offensive line to get into the backfield.

UNLV will rely on Adam Plant Jr, Connor Murphy, and Jacoby Windmon as key players who will get pressure on the quarterback this year. But, adding Scott will help give UNLV depth and options at that position moving forward, and he could be a player that develops nicely into a contributing role on the UNLV defensive line.

Scott had offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Kansas, and Nevada. This is the first defensive player to commit to the Rebels. Quarterback Jayden Maiava committed to UNLV in April and athlete Anthony Constanzo committed in June.

Even though the 2021 season has still not started yet, expect Arroyo and his staff to continue to build depth in the program and attract talented recruits to UNLV.
