Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow has agreed to a two-year, $32 million contract extension with $21 million guaranteed. Renfrow broke out in a big way in 2021, catching 103 passes for 1038 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Renfrow’s big breakout came in his third pro season after tallying 605 yards as a rookie and 656 yards in his second season. Renfrow’s extension was first reported by NFL Network.

First-year Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels released a statement regarding Renfrow’s extension on Friday.

“We are thrilled to have reached an agreement with Hunter Renfrow and look forward to seeing him in Silver and Black for years to come. Hunter is one of the true leaders on this team and he exemplifies the values of the organization in how he comes to work every day. He is a tremendous teammate on and off the field and the entire Raider Nation is excited to see what the future holds for Hunter.”

In a tweet, Hunter Renfrow expressed his gratitude for his major extension.

WR Davante Adams, Renfrow’s new teammate and arguably the best wide receiver in football, had high praise for Renfrow and his football IQ Thursday.

“He’s an interesting dude,” Adams said about Renfrow. “Because you know, I’ve been around a lot people like Hunter, but they’re never usually going into their – what is this, his fourth year coming up? It’s never been a fourth year with the type of football acumen that he has, his awareness, understanding why he does certain things. Because there’s people out there with a lot of talent but they can’t sit there and break it down and tell you why they’re doing what they did with their footwork, or the next rep, why they tweaked it a little bit because of the look that they had.”

“His awareness and his football smarts, he’s definitely ahead of his time.”

Renfrow was a fifth-round pick out of Clemson in the 2019 NFL Draft and continues to be one of best value picks out of his draft class.
