The Raiders and Rams joint scrimmage had a lot of great moments and had many Raiders’ fans excited, for good reason. However, there was one big downside; Nicholas Morrow’s injury, which could keep him out multiple weeks.
Morrow suffered an injury during Thursday’s portion of the joint practice. The injury happened on the final play of scrimmage. He stayed down for a while, and the trainers ventured as far as to bring the cart out. Morrow was able to walk off the field on his own, although he was favoring that leg.
The severity of the injury has been unknown, and it got a lot less attention than it would have because of the fight that broke out afterward. However, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal updated us on some information today via Twitter:
Morrow plays a variety of positions in the linebacker room, so if he’s not fit to play, the Raiders will have to shuffle some players around.
Nick Kwiatkoski, who is listed as Morrow’s primary backup, is also out with an undisclosed injury suffered during last Saturday’s preseason game. He hasn’t practiced the past three days.
If Morrow is out for an extended amount of time and isn’t ready for week one of the regular season, the Raiders might have to look at free agency for an Inside Linebacker.
