The first official depth chart came out earlier this week and now we have the Raiders first injury report. The Raiders play the Baltimore Ravens Week 1 on Monday Night Football and they could be without a key contributor on their offensive line.
According to the first injury report, Richie Incognito did not practice Thursday, which is not new. The Raiders starting LG has been out since suffering a calf injury during the Raiders/Rams joint practice a few weeks back:
Player | Position | Injury | Thursday |
Clelin Ferrell | DE | Back | Full |
Richie Incognito | G | Calf | DNP |
Josh Jacobs | RB | Toe | Limited |
Alex Leatherwood | T | Shin | Full |
Carl Nassib | DE | Pectoral | Limited |
Roderic Teamer | S | Shoulder/Ankle | DNP |
When a player doesn’t practice Thursdays, he typically does not play in the upcoming game. In Incognito’s case, he hasn’t practiced in two weeks, so his status for the first game is in the air. Raiders injury report updates should provide more clarity.
When asked about the veteran guard after practice, Gruden told the media, “we’ll see how he feels at the end of the week. We’re still hopeful that he’ll play,” With only one practice left, the Raiders are hopeful the trainers will provide some good news on Incognito’s health.
Backup safety Roderic Teamer also missed Thursday’s practice. DE Carl Nassib and RB Josh Jacobs were also both limited. Although the belief is the Raiders are allowing Jacobs to take it easy during practice.
