During Waller’s third season with the Raiders, he proved week after week how much he has grown since he joined the team. The now 28 year-old was signed off the Baltimore Raven’s practice squad in 2018 when Jon Gruden saw untapped potential inside Waller. The elite tight end has led the Raiders in receptions in the last two seasons, and he shows no sign of slowing down.

Following the 2019 season, Waller made the NFL Top 100 Players list for the first time. He came in ranked at number 99. After a monster 2020 season, Waller jumped 64 spots all the way up to number 35 in 2021.

Each year, the NFL Top 100 Players list is voted on by the players. For this reason, being on the list is that much more meaningful. Players all over the league were quick to praise Waller as he made his appearance at 35. Travis Kelce, the highest-ranked tight end on the list, took to Twitter to show his admiration for Waller.
