The main card in UFC is what draws in the crowds. The other fights are just appetizers to increase anticipation for the main course. At UFC 269, the main course might be Charles Oliveira (31-8-0) and Dustin Poirier (28-6-0). This main card is the fight that will garner the hype of all UFC fans. This fight would be for the Lightweight Championship. This is the fight to watch on December 11th if you are looking to see two of the best in the octagon.

Dustin Poirier

Both of these fighters have been destroying their competition for the last couple of years. Poirier has become the real deal while reeling off a 7-1 stretch. During that stretch, Max Holloway, Justin Gaethje and Dan Hooker have succumbed to Poirier’s punishment in the ring. There’s a reason that he is ranked #1 in the Lightweight division.

Charles Oliveira

In the other corner, Oliveira has won nine consecutive fights with a well-documented win over Michael Chandler to become the Lightweight champ back in May. Oliveira has been dismantling his opponents since making the switch from featherweight to lightweight. It’s evident by his recent success. It’s tough to have as much success as these two fighters are having. Poirier and Oliveira are hungry to stake their claim as the king of the lightweight division.

This title fight, if it comes to fruition, will be one of the most anticipated fights of the year.  Oliveira hasn’t been challenged recently, and neither has Poirier. Both fighters will have a chance to stake their claim as the top dog in the lightweight division.

Ultimately, this fight will be exhilarating and worth the pay-per-view price. A chance to see two of the best fighters in the UFC in peak form heading into a title fight is what fans dream of witnessing. This fight will go down as one to remember for a long time.
