Jake Paul thinks Conor McGregor’s antics following his loss to Dustin Poirier have gone too far.
“It’s not even that he’s being disrespectful. He just looks dumb with the shit that he’s saying,” Paul told MMA Junkie. “Threatening to kill people, and then he’s out partying, back to drinking, hitting the clubs in LA. I don’t know, man. I think it’s over for him, and I don’t think his ego can maybe accept that.”
Paul (3-0, boxing) believes McGregor’s career is over because he has lost 3 of his last 4 fights. “He’s falling off. He’s 1-3 in five years, and it seems as if people don’t really care”.
McGregor made $3.04M in his last fight against Dustin Poirier and is the UFC’s biggest star. One of the ways he’s kept himself relevant is by trash talking.
Recently, McGregor made nasty comments about Khabib Nurmagomedov’s deceased father on Twitter before deleting them shortly thereafter. He also made death threats to Poirier and his wife, Jolie, in the aftermath of suffering a broken leg at UFC 264.
Paul and McGregor have gone back and forth in the past, and a number of $50M has been thrown around in the past. Many thought this fight would come to fruition. However, Paul now believes it wouldn’t be worth his time, as McGregors value is dropping.
“I think Nate Diaz versus Jake Paul fight is probably more interesting than a Jake Paul vs. drunk Conor McGregor fight,” Paul said.
