Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz continue their Beef on Twitter

After Poirier(28-6-1, UFC) beat Conor McGregor for the second time this year, at UFC 264, he is in prime position for a title shot against Charles Oliveira.

However, he recently went to social media and called out Nate Diaz to continue their beef online about a possible mega-match:

His short post of “Nathan?” was met with a quick response by Nate Diaz:

Nate Diaz vs. Dustin Poirier has been a fight that was discussed earlier this year[again] when Poirier told ESPN MMA, “It is exciting, it is fun.” Poirier was talking about a potential Diaz match-up.

“Those are the kind of fights I want to be part of. Fights that are exciting to me and that I’m motivated to get up and bust my ass every day.”

Diaz vs. Poirier was originally scheduled for UFC 230. However, due to a hip injury that needed surgery, Poirier wasn’t able to get back in shape for that event, eventually withdrawing.

Although it didn’t happen the first time, according to Diaz, Poirier vs. Diaz likely won’t happen because Poirier doesn’t get to call his own shots:

Regardless of the fight happening or not, Poirier does have the option at this point to call his own shots.

On one end, a Diaz vs. Poirier fight could be a big draw. On the other, Poirier can fight the current lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira, and potentially become a champion.

The option is really up to him.
