Some tough news for the Vegas Golden Knights broke on Friday, as it was announced that team captain Mark Stone is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
Stone, 30, suffered the injury early in Thursday’s game versus the Florida Panthers, and was forced to miss the remainder of the outing as a result. This is unfortunate news for this Golden Knights team, who finally seemed to be getting healthy after welcoming back a number of players into their lineup this past week.
While it is unfortunate, it is nothing new for Stone, who has often struggled to stay healthy throughout his lengthy NHL career. Just a season ago, a back injury limited him to just 37 games. The hope now is that whatever he is dealing with doesn’t linger to the same effect, as he was having a fantastic season with 17 goals and 38 points through 43 contests. Expect to get more clarity within the next week as to what it is specifically that he is dealing with.
